Best laid plans...

I visited my parents for several weeks over Christmas and planned to head back down to Victoria in mid-January. But the day before I was due to leave, my dad fell and broke his hip, so plans were put on hold! I'm still parked in their backyard and will be until they no longer need me...

Thankfully my Dad is now out of hospital and the rehab unit (after 3.5 weeks) and is now back at home where the healing journey continues. I'm my parent's driver until he's back behind the wheel, along with providing other support.

My focus has obviously been taken up with hospital visits etc, leaving little mental space for writing. Now that he's home and settling back in, I'm slowly inching back into the world of Bitterport!

I'm really grateful that Dad's accident wasn't worse and that I have the flexibility to allow me to focus on my parents with no pressing deadlines. It really brings home what's important in life.
